A small marijuana grow was located and eradicated on the property. The victim’s purse, including her credit cards and family photos was located as well as all of the items Vang had purchased with the victim’s stolen credit card. Vang was in custody for an unrelated matter during the service of the search warrant. On Monday, March 16, 2020, at approximately 8:38 A.M., deputies and investigators served a search warrant at Vang’s residence in the 800 Block of N. Vang proceeded to use the victim’s credit card at several businesses to purchase approximately $1000 worth of tools that he planned to use to further his illegal marijuana cultivation. While she was distracted, a suspect identified as 33-year-old Banning resident Peng Vang, stole her purse containing her credit cards and family photos. In the early morning hours of Monday, February 24, 2020, a 71-year-old female was gambling at the Soboba Resort and Casino and left her purse unattended under the seat of her walker while she gambled at a slot machine.
